If you have struggled trying to create a decent squeeze page for WordPress, you are not alone! I tried for several months to develop my own with disastrous results.

At first I tried to create my own squeeze page in html

Without a template, you have very little hope. With a template it is not terribly difficult, but it is still a pain to update each page (outside of WordPress) — particularly if you are not a fluent coder. Also, I am already using WordPress and would prefer to create a squeeze page from within it.

Second option was to find a free squeeze page for WordPress

There are no shortage of example squeeze pages, but most of them are single html files with included images. The more advanced squeeze pages — designed for WordPress — are usually part of a theme. As you know, a theme defines look and feel of the pages, posts, etc for each blog. Incorporating the squeeze page into a theme has advantages and disadvantages.

  • Advantage: using a consistent theme makes creating a squeeze page a snap because you only need to select a different “page type” in the page settings. Additionally, many themes often include sales pages or minisites for WordPress, so you are getting bonuses
  • Disadvantage: you are stuck using only one theme for each squeeze page, which is definitely limiting. If you want a “blog” and squeeze pages, these free templates can’t do that.

Go ahead and do a search for yourself “free word press squeeze page” and see what you can find. It is definitely a good place to get ideas, but the quality is only okay. Look, you are creating a squeeze page to get names and make money. Quality matters.

I found it best to leave squeeze pages for Word Press to the experts

Two squeeze pages for Word Press stood out to me. In fact, I am using both of them on this website right now!

FlexSqueeze for Flexibility Theme

  • The Flexibility Theme is the same theme I use on this blog. You’ll find that some of the best marketers on the web rely on Flexibility Theme. I highly recommend it
  • FlexSqueeze adds capabilities to incorporate, along with the existing Flexibility Theme, sales pages, squeeze pages, landing pages, and minisites.
  • Besides templates that are custom designed for WordPress, you’ll get all the trimmings you need for a professional squeeze page (and beyond), including: testimonial boxes, opt-in boxes, and custom graphics
  • Support and tutorials are also available to all members

You can find much more detailed on the FlexSqueeze website.

WordPress Spire

  • I prefer WordPress Spire because it has even more flexibility than the Flexibility when it comes to creating squeeze pages for WordPress or complete minisites. WP Spire has several different versions:
    1. WP Spire Theme for WordPress: a complete, highly flexible theme for WordPress that allows you to create high-quality sales pages, squeeze pages, landing pages, or complete mini-sites. Customizable via a control panel in WordPress, the world is at your fingertips.
    2. WP Spire Plugin for WordPress: though it might exist, I don’t know another WordPress plugin that allows you to use your existing WordPress theme for your blog and then create custom WordPress squeeze pages, landing pages, sales pages — each one with a different template, if you’d like. This is a major selling point.
    3. WP Spire Bundle for WordPress: get both the WP Spire theme and WP Spire plug-in at a discounted, bundled price. No brainer for me. On some sites I want to use the complete WP Spire theme, on others — like this site — I only want to use the WP Spire plugin.
  • Like FlexSqueeze, WP Spire allows you complete flexibility to create sales pages, squeeze pages, landing pages, and minisites.
  • You also get professional Word Press templates, icons, backgrounds, testimonial boxes, opt-in boxesand anything else you could want.

Check out the WordPress Spire website to get all the details.
